DreamCloud is an interactive bedtime routine tracker for preschool and early elementary-aged children that builds confidence and consistency in bedtime and morning routines by rewarding task completion and increasing bedtime appeal with star projection onto the ceiling.
The DreamCloud was designed as an extension of Hatch’s preexisting sleep-centered product line

Research
Through the examination of children's bedtime and morning routines, I identified 6 parallel steps that are a consistent part of the daily routines of preschool and elementary aged children.
Sticker charts and chore trackers, have been proven to reinforce and motivate routines, yet no product on the market organizes this routine for children.
I also visited toy stores to identify themes and trends for toys marketed towards my target age group of 3-7 years, and how they could be applied to Hatch’s preexisting design language system
Moon-shaped Activity Stations are placed around the house, adjacent to task areas.
They house tokens that are collected at night after the completion of each task, and returned during the corresponding tasks in the morning.
The insertion of all six tokens into the DreamCloud activates the starry night light and creates an exciting bedtime experience for kids to look forward to!
